Had lunch with the boss and someone else higher in the business than me. They were discussing a current topic and shut me down when I made comment that opposed what they were saying. I said it politely and attempted to present evidence to back me up. The boss has evidence of the sort "I just know it"

Any guesses who at the table is writing the externally reviewed degree level paper on the subject?

After yesterday's sunshine when I was stuck at work, it's grey and cool today, with the odd shower.

Not what I need

Yeah, looking at long term forecasts is depressing too....the odd sunny day amongst lots of rainy ones....I really want to move somewhere where the weather is better, it would certainly be better for my health if I did!

I lied about it being the better of the two days, I've woken to grey skies and rain.

Wtf happened to the sunshine and warmth they forecast!

I'm going to write a letter to the Beeb and complain about their shoddy work

Maybe this is why, after 95 years of using met office forecasts BBC has started using a private company - to 'save money' - they could save a lot more by paying their overpaid presenters and managers a bit less of our money.

"Familiar weather presenters will remain on screen, but employed directly by the BBC rather than the Met Office, which trained them. As presenters made up the bulk of costs, it is hard to see how that shaves much off the BBC bill. Last year the Met Office invoiced the BBC substantially less than £3m; a fraction of the Met Office’s £230m annual funding"

Now I have to call HMRC back.
Feel your pain, but this is the price of reducing the civil service to call centres, and closing local offices. People always moaning about too many civil servants, but the reality is different these days.

I had similar problems using the online HMRC Probate registration system, luckily I filled the forms out, took my documents and handed them in to my probate office.

Could you contact US Embassy & see if you can 'show them yours' here?
Or even at a more local Embassy branch?

you go to the hospital and come out with something feeling worse than when you went in. The staff dont get paid enough to work in such hazardous conditions. Small wonder how they all stay healthy

Yep, I've always recovered quicker once I've got back home, nothing to do with the amazing care I've received, same with the care my mum got, not enough staff in most cases.
