Armed Forces Weekend
It was Armed Forces Weekend in Cleethorpes and the flying display has just concluded with a performance by the Red Arrows. Typical well polished and skillful flying which culminated in 3 aircraft writing "100" in the sky to celebrate 100 years of the RAF, great job!
They're based at Scampton and I remember working on the ILS glidepath transmitter there, hearing a strange jet whistling noise, looked out and an American B52 was doing an approach. |

Re: Armed Forces Weekend
Saw the red arrows flying above Sydney Harbour from a friends boat when we lived in Oz, was very dramatic as harbour near to bridge is pretty well surrounded by buildings, and this gave an impression of speed and magnified the sound, IIRC two of the planes flew under the harbour bridge.
They are great ambassadors for UK.
