Coolant

Hi, just a quick question - hopefully an easy answer and not a can of worms type thing!

Changed the coolant on my curvy and filled to the top of the radiator - but roughly how much do you then put in the reservoir at the top?
Due to it either being old and dirty or having the wrong coolant in the past I can't see the level at all through the 'clear' bit

The " clear " bit is not very clear at all . I found that if you hold a bright torch from against the engine pointing back towards the resevoir with a bit of manoevering to get it in the right position it just enables you to see the coolant level , not ideal but it worked for me .

ermmm stick your finger or a rule in as a gauge. its only an expansion bottle if there is too much then it will spurt out till it gets to the right level, as long as there is some liquid in there all is well.

Ill try the light idea next time i have the tank up

I just pulled a bit out with a syringe and thought it'd do

I guess you're right bibio - its only coolant, not oil or anything lol
