Local Knowledge?
The wife and I are passing through this weekend, heading for Bexley and we're in the car.
I usually use Google earth directions which are quite often spot on, however I want to check with you locals the latter stage of the proposed route. Depart wf15 8bx (home) - Arrive SE4 2BT The route google proposes, takes us to the very end of the M1 then down the A5 past Hyde Park, over the river and past the Oval on the A202 then finally onto B roads to the destination. My concern is that the wife always used to to head down the A1/M1 then onto the M25-M11-A12 Blackwell Tunnel - A2 which seems to be faster roads but a greater distance. Hence why Im looking to you guys for your comments, is the Blackwell tunnel at tea time saturday a no go area or better yet are there road works on the A5. Anything along those lines which will help me get a 7.5month pregnant woman to the destination toilet fastest would be awsome! Thanks in Advance. |

Re: Local Knowlage
There are some 50mph areas on the M25 on that route you usually take at the moment as they are making it 4 lanes but I sailed through to the A1/M1 on Saturday no problem at all, especially the bits that are already finished.
Don't go near the Oval - it's the toilet of cricket - Lord's is much nicer!

Re: Local Knowlage
I think your wifes route is better.Id avoid the A5 on a Saturday and all of central London.A slightly shorter version might be to go M25 A10 A406 to the Blackwall tunnel, but your M11 route is OK if the M25 is clear.
