Math problems
My cousin approached me with a math question from her homework and it's got me stumped. Just wondering if any of you guys are maths wizards and could help.
Find two numbers whose sum is 10 and multiply together to equal 10.

Re: Math problems
The numbers aren't whole numbers. The answer is (rounded to 3 decimal places) 8.873 and 1.127

Re: Math problems
Yes, but usually they want you to show your working:
We get simultaneous equations: Y+Z=10 and Y x Z=10 Merging and multiply by Y gives Y^2 -10Y -10= 0 Using [ -b+\- √(b^2 - 4ac)]÷2a gives 5 +\- √15

Re: Math problems
First you have to understand that "maths" is plural not singular.
