Recent Hondas with 310mm or 320mm discs?
I'm not very good at Hondas... Anyone know which models if any came with 310mm or 320mm- preferably 320mm- discs and the 6-bolt pattern as you get with the Blades?

Oops "recent"
For starters , go to the MCN web site and have a look at bike specs for other Hondas(assumming the recent Blades don't have 310/320 discs. Right?). Maybe initially looking at bikes that use similar calipers VTR, SP1, CBR600 including the non- radial RR. Then you can look at bolt patterns later. In any case I should know a good source for that sort of info but can't check today. Ben |

Okies spoke someone today and went through a parts book.
Got a list of bikes with sizes you are looking for. Unfortunately still have to check on the bolt pattern and the centre hole for the hub. ZX12R (2000) 320mm 1200 Bandit (1996) 310mm ZX7R 310mm ZX9R 320mm Only found one Honda bike which was a CBR900RRW(9 310mm Will see what else I can find. Ben

I wouldn't bother with the MCN website. They changed it recently and it is now worse than ever.

Re: Recent Hondas with 310mm or 320mm discs?
Ach, well, it was going to be a secret But I got myself this:
From Ebay, £140 or thereabouts, never fitted to a bike (it's had a tyre fitted though). Fireblade fitment, so the spindle size is the same as the GSXR front I have, and it's narrower so I just need 2 spacers to make it fit. That, and some 320mm discs in the same spacing. Before anyone says it, yes, I know to be paranoid of used magnesium wheels- but this one's a good 'un I reckon, original paint and not so much as a mark in the threads or on the disc faces or spacers, which backs up it having never been fitted. These can do the rounds from one project build to another and never get as far as fitment Cheers for the suggestions Ben, I think the 2006 CBR1000RR has 320mm discs... Also SP1 and SP2, and maybe 2006 onwards CBR600RR.

Ohh, if I was in work I could easily tell you. Um... but I'm not, so I can't.
I can tell you if the '98 Blade discs would fit as I have a pair (with attached bike) in the garage. Let you know when I next pootle down there. Last edited by K; 07-03-07 at 10:12 AM. Reason: . |

Re: Recent Hondas with 310mm or 320mm discs?
Yup - confirmed. The RR-W (and so I guess the RR-V) has a pair of 310mm front discs with a 6 bolt connection.
Now to be brutally honest, I have a sneaky suspiscion that it may wall be only this model (that spanned the two years) of Blade that would have this... partly because I seem to recall being told that it has a different sized front wheel to versions pre and post... ... but without my beloved Honda Parts Catalogues I can say for certain. What with 'social' relations between myself and work being on the 'iffy' side - I wouldn't really want to phone them up to ask. BUT - if you have a Honda dealer you can ring (as they'll have the EPC either on disc or preferably on-line) - get the part number for a CBR 900RR-W front disc, then ask they to search by partnumber - that will give you a list of all other Honda bikes that take that same disc. It's a really simple search for them to do - so don't let em tell you otherwise. |
