Spitfire and Hurricane in D-Day markings just skimmed my house on their way in for a low-level pass over Hughenden Manor. I never have my camera with me for moments like that but it was a glorious sight and sound.

They're having a 40's weekend ay The Manor and we can hear their PA and big band music very clearly from a mile away. Formerly the residence of Victorian PM Benjamin Disraeli it was used in WW2 by the Mapmakers who received reconnaissance photos and made maps for Bomber Command, based just another mile further from Trev Towers. Pardon me boy, is that the Chattenooga choo choo...

Hope you've recovered now Clare...
I would feel a lot better if there hadn't been an hour's delay to get a train last night and then no taxis at the station. The play finished at 10.25, I got home at 1.15 and had to be up again early for work this morning.

Fairly sure when I was in London on Friday we passed some buildings called hotels... I know it makes the night out a bit more expensive but with the trek you have to get home it would have been worth it.

Hotels in London cost around £200 per night or more, and that's a Travelodge. It should only take me an hour to get home from Holborn. The theatre tickets were £200, plus dinner, drinks, taxi.

Kings Cross Travelodge for tomorrow night is £90 for single occupancy, cheaper if you book in advance. This coming Friday is £80. Sometimes it's worth it.

On this occasion I needed the car on Sunday to get to work and transport a painting and Stu needed it Saturday night. I could have stated with my friend had it not been for that.

Unfortunately when I stay in hotels my insomnia is even worse than at home. I often don't sleep at all. I used to stay in town when I had early starts at work but now I don't bother as I was finding I got less sleep than just getting up really early.
