Restricted Sv650 to restricted Gsxr 600
Anyone made the move? Good or bad idea? I am told the sv engine takes the restiction better than the gsxr. Does the suspension and brakes make up for it on the gsxr?

If it's anything to do with engine revs then I would imagine the gixer will feel awful. The sv makes nice low end grunty torque and is apparently still very good when restricted.

Re: Restricted Sv650 to restricted Gsxr 600
terrible move imo
the gixxer will feel incredibly dull, severely doubt the brakes and suspension would make up for it at all , let alone the cost and bother of swapping. Service the the brakes and suspension or upgrade them on the sv (hagon springs are very affordable and effective) and you'll be happier with it.

Just get the Gsxr and pretend it's restricted.

Re: Restricted Sv650 to restricted Gsxr 600
I was reading about some American riders who got newish GSXR 600s as their first bike and used them in mode "c" which means they are quite a bit slower.
Their plan was to use mode "c" for a few months before running them on full power. The problem is that apparently when you start the bike they default to mode "a" (full power). So a couple of them pulled into a petrol station, forgot to put them into mode "c" and promptly trashed them within a a few seconds of pulling out. Ouch. Some responses were that Suzuki made the modes for bad weather conditions rather than new riders, and that infact Suzuki were one of the only manufacturers who state that their Sports bikes are for experienced riders. All this is from their forum so any errors are not on my part, just repeating what I read. |
