Good going. Gary Northeasts SV must have crossed the 100k by now.

Yes, I thought the cost of new tops weren't worth it. I haven't cut through mine but parts of the tops have broken away .

Fitted Arrow silencer and link pipe. Neater and less cumbersome than original. Looks and sounds good.
Probably imagining it but bike actually seems to go better !

Unfortunately not yet. Not had much opportunity to ride lately for various reasons. Only on 98,250 miles at the moment.

Broke in my new Bridgestone S21 tires. Super happy with them. The Dunlops fitted on my 2019 were okay at first, but they got twitchy as they wore. You know the tires have 3 belts: left side, center, right side. I could feel a dead spot when the bike leaned enough to get off the center belt onto a side belt. Then as the tire wore even more, the rear tire began sliding when it was entirely on a side belt.

This is the third bike I put the S21s on. Love 'em. They suit me perfectly.

Love it when you get your favourite boots on a bike. Enjoy!

It might well do marginally, even just from the weight difference. You can make that weight up over easter now

Took my new leathers and my new pilot 5's out to wear in. Had to cut the ride short as my shift lever was way too high and kept finding neutral. Had to lift my leg to change up which was difficult without wearing the pants in. Garage must have took it off doing my sprockets and chain at the same time. Will have to adjust it and go again when the weather improves again, forecast is a bit grim

I managed a short ride out in the Dales on Friday. Only a little loosener but nice to be back on two wheels again.
Today, the bike got a coolant change, new oil and filter, and some engine case sliders.

Countershaft seal replaced on the DRZ. New sprocket to fit, but left it all loose at the moment because as usual doing one job uncovers another. The retaining ring for the cuontershaft seal was spinning free with the edges and bolts that hold it sheared off. So waiting on backorder parts from Fowlers again before I put it back together witha new chain on.

Fitted a new Yuasa YT12A-BS battery to my 2016 AL7 to replace the OEM FB ( Furukawa Battery ) super MF FT12A-BS. I have a voltmeter fitted to bike and noticed that ( despite being charged regularly even when not being used ) voltage was sitting at around 12.4 and dropping to below 12 when the ignition was turned on just due to load of LED headlight and fuel pump - voltage recovered slowly to about 12.3 when ignition turned off again. Even 24 hours after a full charge the battery was back to 12.4... Now the battery sits at about 12.8 to 13.1 volts, drops to about 12.6 when I turn ignition on and - the bike positively leaps into life whern I thumb the starter..... Beware, batteries fail so slowly that it goes unnoticed, it was only the voltmeter that caused me to notice what the voltage was doing, the bike still started with the old battery on, but it is only now the new one is fitted I realise how much slower it was turning the engine over.
