Default Maxi scooter

Just fancied looking into a Maxi scooter ( the large wheel almost motorcycle type of thing) as a matter of interest ,and read an owners review on his Yamaha Tmax 550cc ,or whatever it is, on utube . Anyway for a bike/scooter that cost about £12,000 he seemed to have replaced an awful lot of parts to get it how he wanted. It wasn't the latest model, a new model is out in 2022, but he fitted a new stainless steel exhaust system because the original was not stainless and was corroding. New suspension front and rear. Replacement brake lines ,fittings and brackets which were corroding. Centre stand was replaced by Yamaha under warranty as original grounded out going over bumps.
Can't remember what else he replaced but you would think a £12,000 bike /scooter would come as fairly good quality from the factory !

Isn't the TMAX one of the best selling bikes in the world? I didn't realise they cost so much.

I'd be up for a test ride on a Honda X-ADV. 750cc twin, DCT automatic, very comfy looking seat, built in storage... Basically an NC750, even retaining chain drive, in a step-through frame. I may of course just be getting old...

Don't know how many they sell but they do cost that much.

I quite liked the idea of these or the new Honda big scooter but I wouldn't have anything with the NC750 engine unless it is a lot better than the NC700X which I had and was one of the most dull bikes I have ever had, even if the storage was good and it handled ok. The screen was a buffeter and I didn't like the idea of the engine restriction at certain revs. ( I was afraid it might cut in when I was overtaking !)

I just want to test ride one, I'm not really thinking about getting one. Probably not anyway...
