The noise is from inside where one of the brackets has snapped. Bugger knows how that happened

my curvy looked similar.. of course that had been smashed into something at somepoint though.

Cable ties and inner tubing until you can be bothered to replace.

Quite sometime. The noise was only when I was riding, so I figured it was not the engine. Tuesday decided to take off the fairings and to have a look around.

That is exactly what i'm thinking. The only mod I can afford at the mo is the front lights. Which is cheaper that buying a second hand housing for the gsxr.
Also have to work out where i'm going to put all the cable, looks really messy at the moment.

Update:
After talking to the wife, she has given permission to do what I want to the bike, as long as it is cheap.
So after browsing prices and having a chat with a mate ( cheers Chris

), I got a 2nd hand Falcon front fairing:-

I know it's poo, but I got it cheap so not bothered.
The next step is to grill the air vents, put bar end mirrors on ( cheapest possible ) and to tidy up the cables. After which, I will see how much I can get a exhaust for.
Had a little ride around the block and no dodgy sounds, plus there seems to be less vibration on the handle bars ( will test further when it's legal to ride ).
Let you know how things progress.

Btw:- the original housing for the lights once opened fell apart ( thanks to the wife wanting to have a look! ), so no fixing them
