Ah, that's a grievous tactical error- never ask for a day off unless you know you'll get it. Once you've asked for the day off and been refused, you can't be "ill", it's the law. Shame though, you're on my list of .organists that I want to meet.

yup, I did all that once - got quite awkward when I wasn't answering my home phone & wouldn't give out the landline of where I was supposedly recuperating

I can beat that.

Pawel, one of our guys here is Polish.

Got an email to the office one day declaring he was working from home.

Somone had to call him, and realised that they were getting an international dialing tone.

Yep, he was working from home, just not the one he usually lives at in London

No-one had seen that loophole - so he got away with it
