Default Cbt booked!

Having gathered all essential biking gear I've plucked up the courage to book my Cbt. This Saturday is hopefully stage 1 of my process out of the way.

Its going to be cold and I can't decide whether to wear all the thermal layers of my textiles or not(rst tractech evo)

Any tips on clothing or cbt process?

Dom

Good luck & wear your stuff if its going to be cold, which it most likely is going to be. Being cold will distract you!

One of the first parts is to learn why you wear what you need to in certain conditions

As a former instructor, just listen to what's being said & take your time.

Part 1 is not too difficult.

Wear everything you can find. Getting used to riding dressed like the michelin man extends your riding season no end.

I have seen the race tech line and they dont look too warm, get some thermal layers on. you probably wont notice the cold due to the excitement

good luck

Thank folks, can't decide whether to turn up in jeans etc. Then try and squeeze into textiles when I get there or drive there in my gear?
No sure about excited, more nervous. Any learner tips?

I took a change of clothes and I felt like a bit of a div turning up with packed lunch, two sets of trousers, two sets of shoes, a helmet etc etc

Might aswell just drive there ready to go as long as textiles don't restrict you driving.

I got about 2 hours sleep the night before my CBT, I was convinced my helmet was crushing my brain and I'd wasted £200 on buying it the day before, I was a wreck. Especially knowing that I'd already bought my Aprilia 125 and it was actually prepped and ready to go if I passed. (CBT centre and dealer shared a building).

But I passed and it wasn't worth the HUGE levels of stress and worry. I rode my Aprilia home and my god was I a happy bunny.

Basically, you'll be fine. You can't really 'fail' and the 'pass rate' I'm sure is astronomically high.

Just get changed into your textiles there. They'll be a toilet you can get changed in if your shy

The CBT is a training course not a test. Just relax and enjoy yourself, I know people who have dropped the bike twice and still got the certificate.

As as many questions as you can think of as well, it's going to be unlikley your question is the stupidest one they've ever heard.

Well done DomP, DAS booked yet? A girl at my local training centre failed her CBT so many times (in the off road part, she never made it to the on road part) they told her they didnt think it was safe for her to try again.
