The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
Ok, so if anyone remembers at the AR, there was a drunken chinwag about riding to Dave Prestons pad in Spain on a bike costing no more than 200 quid.
Heres the crack. Off you go and find yourself a bike, on any internet site for 200 quid, tax and MOT included in the cost, if its not already got it. Now...off you go....find me a bike that you want to ride, and then tell Dave Preston we're coming down en mass for a holiday, and we're all starting at his gaffe in Preston!! Heres mine to get you started. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cossack-Ne...item19c7f83575

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
Well, hes got to buy another one....however if it came to him auctioning off his SV on ebay to pay for it, he'd have about £199.01 to spend!
Actually, edit that, he'd only get 99p for it ...what am I on about

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
I have a 1979 Suzuki TS250C that I was given for nothing. Would that qualify as I haven't had to source it online. In my defence the bloke who gave it to me is a friend I met via a motorcycling newsgroup.

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
errr no, not a bike you already own.
Has to be a ebay special, or similar, to give everyone an equal footing. Like on Top Gear, go out and buy summat!

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
The over 20 years old, under 200 quid and under 200cc thing has been done before, a few years ago by friends of mine on ukrm. They took a Yamaha RS200, Kawasaki Z200 and an MZ TS150 to Frankfurt with a more modern CG125 riding school bike with starship mileage and a BMW R1150GS as back up crew They did the whole trip there and back in 3 days with only the CG125 giving trouble. All three bikes are still going.
