Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
Not great photos but you get the idea.
After about 10 minutes.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
Great job, what bike is that? The swinger suggests VFR800 but the calipers don't!

Once i get the bike outside, where i can splash bleach and water all over the place I'll have a proper go at the exhausts. This was purely a test to see if Harpic was any good.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
Oh ok, didn't know that about the calipers. I do like the 800 but I'll always love the gear driven cam whine and lack of Vtec from my 93 750.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
That's lovely. By far the best looking VFR.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
By brothers is a red 96 model, his mate had a Vtec 800 and after riding the bros 750 offered a straight swap because 750 was more rideable at lower revs.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
Carbs all day for smoothness!
I've spent an ungodly amount getting the bike how it is. It's about 100bhp at the rear wheel now, not uber power in this day and age but for a 220+kg bike, it shimmies. The left exit exhaust required extensive jetting (about four bloody rounds of tuning in fact) to get perfect. The low end is a little lighter but the mid to top end just fliiiiiiiiies now. Here's the bike sound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzJ5GQO_njI You might notice I have a later model front wheel on it now for the floating discs, I'll be putting Brembo calipers on it soon I hope, from a Ducati 900ss etc, the weak spot of this bike is the same as the 650...the calipers.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
Ive got a pair of Brembo 900SS Carby calipers, they will need pins & pads. They could probably be used as is but I am sure that you would probably service them. I'm having a bit of a clear out & was going to put them on Fleabay but you can have them for £50 + P & P. Let me know if you are interested & I will post some pics.

Re: Exhaust pipe cleaning
I got some Harpic Max Power last night as Tesco have it on offer for a £1.00! I'll try it over the weekend. I assume you pour it over and leave it to work its magic and then agitate it in with a green scourer?
