Cool Curvy, Naked or faired ?

Hi guys & gals,

So my 1999/2000 curvy looks like a faired one ! Well that's how it came to me, but I'm beginning to wonder if it started out life as a Naked ?

Is it possible to tell the difference from the frame number ?

Recently I have been suffering with lower back pains & pains in my hands, when out on the SV lately I have been getting cramp in my legs & pains in my hands & elbows.

So I got to thinking if I raise the bars & maybe move the footrests around a bit it could help a lot, now if I raise the bars I'm told I will need to extend the brake hoses throttle cables clutch cable & switch wiring ! Well looking at all of these they are plenty long enough to do that already, so do I own a Naked curvy that has been converted into a faired version ?

Answers on a postcard please !

Do you have a photo of the bike in question you could share?

Hi.

I can't remember the exact specs off the top of my head, but the naked had a swingarm marginally longer than the faired/curvy versions.

The V5C should tell you, if it says something like SV650 K1 it's a nekkid, if it says SV650 SK1 it's a faired (S=sports). If someone has converted it they are extremely unlikely to have changed the detail on the V5C.

Cool Re: Curvy, Naked or faired ?

Well the V5c doesn't have a model designation on it, but the chassis No starts JS1AV so any ideas ?
