Re: shoei xr1000
Light, comfortable are the plus points. Then I start riding and the air blasts my eyes so badly I can't see a thing. That is with or without chin curtain thing and whisper kit. And it steams up. Noisier than my flip front too. I now only use mine for riding pillion.

Re: shoei xr1000
all depends on your head shape, make sure you try it on before you buy it to see if it's comfortable!! (and in my view, you can get other new body parts these days, but you can't get a new head!! so spend as much as you can possibly afford on protecting your bonce!!)

Re: shoei xr1000
had mine a year now, comfy, and light as said before. Get the pinlock visor steams quite bad, but good ventilation on it four vents, but dam its loud you really need ear plugs if your going any distance. All in all good but not great. Got mine rather cheap at the time so it seemed rude not to get it.

Re: shoei xr1000
In my own opinion I would save and get the top of the line helmet, whether it be a Shoei or Arai. I spend extra money on helmets, brakes and tires. I have owned Arai and Shoei helmets and I like my Shoei better.

Had the xr1100 was a fantastic helmet and lasted well after destroying a Subaru with my body!

Ouch. I wouldnt suggest anybody do that to test a helmet, but since you already did it. All jokes aside hope no permanent damage was done to your body. |

I came away with just a broken thumb where I took off the spoiler. Nothing serious thankfully.

I have one and think it's alright, not tested it particularly vigorously though it has done probably 40k miles. Thinking about it, that's a really long time. I should probably wash it.
