Default How many miles in 1 day?

If the weather looks good next weekend I might go over to Milton Keynes to visit a friend. Then go on the annual rideout on Sunday and meet some of you lot

However, it's a bl**dy long way

So, the question is; is it reasonable to travel 450 miles in 1 day on a motorbike. Though most of this run will be 'A' roads and motorways (and a boat)

Yeah easy, I've done 700 personally... some of the us guys have done more than that !!

Try and do a few b roads too if you can so you don't square off your tyres too much

Thanks Ian.

The D220's will be going in the bin after the run, so am not worried about the tyres.

Yes , no problem . Just factor time into it! I did 900 miles on sunday on return from the continent however it took 15 hours as the breaks had to become more frequent. You'll be fine with 450 - just take a break when you feel the need

If you do go from Dublin to Holyhead, then be careful in north Wales, they get a bit funny about speeding up there.

They have funny ideas about speed signs as well. Especially on that dual carriageway running along the coast. 70, 50, 70 50 etc etc with the signs in black and white on bridges over the middle of the carriageway. Fortunately I got let off.
