I did think i could smell a slight electrical burning smell last year whilst riding. Now i know why.

Honda fixed. Stator checked out fine so by-passed the connector. Getting a nice steady 14.7v at the battery. Which is about 0.1 above what I was getting before but below 15v as specified in the manual

Did Honda (the reliable power of dreams) make their connectors from Babybel cheese?

It would seem so. The odd thing I noticed is that the gauge of the wires coming from the stator is significantly smaller than the guage going to the reg/rec. Combine that with a connector that can't cope and you get issues. To be fair the bike is 13 years old so no doubt some corrosion get in despite my best efforts.

So it looks like our local Tesco don't do this, despite being huge! There is one the other side of Bristol that does, but all their collection slots are booked up until after April 10th. We'll be running out of food in the next few days. Not sure what we're meant to do. Friends nearby are also staying home, relatives hiding out miles away.

packages - I used to get excited when I received a delivery, now I look at the parcel on the kitchen counter as if it's a bio-weapon.

open the box (wash hands) - it's an electrical gadget so charge it (wash hands) - read the instructions (wash hands). If I don't use it till tomorrow the virus might be dead (leave it for 3 days just in case).

I just cancelled my Devitts insurance for the Kawasaki H1 (it's sold). This was a mistake since their cancellation charge (£50) means I have to pay another £36 for the privilege of the cancellation. The policy had another 4 months to run and had been paid in full. Since I told them I'd sold the bike they wouldn't let me backtrack and let the policy expire.
