Fitted my first accessory today. Hard wired my phone/sat-nav power supply using the gizmo. the unit came with a 2 Amp fuse, so I just cut that off, put fuse into gizmo and fitted the connectors supplied with gizmo.

Phone powers up when ignition switched on! Cheers Lance, job's a good one!

you mean the orange wire with the two white plugs. this connects in line with your rear brake light switch to activate the coil in the relay so it turns on and off with the bike. if you don't connect this then the gizmo wont work.

just follow the rear brake light switch wire till you find the same type of connector then separate the plug then plug the gizmo connectors into either end.

Yep, works a treat. Powers up and switches off with the ignition key.

I've pulled the other 2x 5 Amp fuses out of the unit at the moment, cos I ain't using them yet. Was going to use one of the feeds for my Stebel horn power supply, but it works well as is - so decided to not fix whot ain't broken.

would make it neater i suppose
................................

my plan of action will be a lights off till start unit which will have a feed for the relay coil on the gizmo so the gizmo wont start till the start button is released so no power drain when you turn the ignition on.

a powerbox to feed live power to 3 components e.g. gizmo, horn and HID.

I like that idea, but sometimes when with friends or whatever i like to have the lights on without the engine so we can gather round and talk in the dark, good thinking though.

How soon will you be doing this powerbox? i'm wanting HID's within about 5 weeks?

will be putting in an order for more connectors (i have run out again) tomorrow so should have them done by the end of the week. i have the cable and boxes here.

if you do install HID then they don't like being turned on-off-on again and can reduce the lifespan considerably.

the pointy from k5> has an auto cut while starting in the circuit but the lights are still turned on with the ignition then they are turned off when the starter button is pressed then back on again when you let go of the starter button which is bad for HID

K3-4 are always on with ignition and stay on while starting which has no ill effect on HID.
