As the title suggests, Pyramid have sent me a pointy extender, and I've heard it can be attached without needing to drill holes and using the ugly self-tappers. Do I use some sort of ultrastrong adhesive? Will those sticky pads supplied not do the job? Guess not or we wouldn't need the screws! What's the secret to securing it firmly so it doesn't vibrate loose, but without drilling nasty holes? Help out the Tallguy, oh mighty and worshipful .org!

I pop-riveted mine then got the whole thing painted to match up.
But if you're bothered about seeing the screws, what about getting it plastic welded? |

Glue it
Go to B & Q or somewere and get some waterproof adhesive, I used a Product called "Evostick Wet Grab" on mine, worked a treat. The other product that seems get mentioned is something called "Sikaflex" its used on boats so its waterproof as well.

Thanks guys, any info on super tough glues much appreciated. Marine adhesive would make sense, as no doubt it'll be designed to be waterproof and vibration resistant. Why don't Pyramid supply a tiny pot of this in the package? Surely noone actually thinks the drill and screw idea looks smart? I'd pay an extra two or three pounds for the glue option. Maybe I should write to Pyramid...

Silicone sealant also seems to be a good option: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...3298&page=3#22

Looks like THIS is the stuff I should be using!
I know someone with boat expertise, will see if he's got any I can "borrow"...

I glued a Pyramid fender extender to my K3 with this: http://www.tec7.com/index.php?st=pro...y=tec7&taal=en
Very strong product, still keeps with no problems, no holes, no nothing ![]() |
