Default Re: Your opinions on my bike security?

Thanks for all the advice/opinions. I've decided out of sight of the main road is better and it is secured to a pretty solid concreted in fence post. If they insist on trying again there's no way they can do it without waking the entire complex.

In other news received a letter from the police which concludes 'on this occasion it has been decided that no further action will take place'. Didn't get a visit, or even a phonecall. I wasn't expecting them to go all CSI but we could tell them the exact time it happened and there is plenty of cctv covering the surrounding streets which could have seen the numberplate on the car. Not a priority though I guess.

Defo think a camera with sign + auto light under the carport.
Ground Anchor out of reach from the fence so any theif would have to jump the fence before even attempting anything. This combined with camera and light will make them feel like they are losing 3-0 before the game has even started. Throw in a siren on a disc lock for example and that may just be final nail in the coffin.

By forcing them to climb overand expose themselves to light/camera they cant run as quick if someone catches them in the act or police turn up so much higher risk even from the start.

In regards to the police sometimes just a simple patrol the following night and a knock on the door goes a long way. I know It did when there was attempted theft on my bike.
