Just bought a new motherboard to upgrade my NAS, no graphic card required. as it has AST2500. Good job as it leaves the single expansion slot for something else.

I don't game, video edit why have on board graphics all but disappeared?

It's on CPU graphics these days, unless you go for a CPU specifically without graphics on die.

In regard to the current issues - TSMC has a maximum output with fabrication time allotted years ahead to thier customers with a huge backlog of requests which is hitting AMD and nVidia's productions, Intel has it's own fab plants but has other manufacturing issues.

There are new fab plants coming online over the next couple of years from most of the chip producers but everything these days contains ever increasing volumes of 'Chips' - Smart TV, Mobiles, Cars, 'that' social media device that turns your lights on and off (and those lights), fridges, washing machines etc etc etc

Internet pundits of one type or another are pretty much looking at late 2022 before things get any better at all.

Thailand also has a drought/water shortage (worst in 50 years IIRC) which is causing issues at the plant, not being able to run at 100% capacity.
