Re: Boobs - discussion
Wife's friend first felt a lump in her breast in March but didn't go to the doc till August because she was afraid.
However in just those few months it had developed into stage 3 breast cancer. Now undergoing chemo and radiation treatment but not looking good for her. No matter how uncomfortable it might be please have them checked ladies!!!

Re: Boobs - discussion
That's sad to read. A mammogram isn't pleasant, a needle biopsy is worse. But if your wife/girlfriend ever mentions a lump get her along to the doc. Most of the time it will be nothing. We get odd bumps going on but thanks to the clinic I sleep easy knowing mine are harmless. Of course in return you can offer to let her feel your dangly bits for anything unusual.

Ladies, it isn't just lumps. Lynne didn't have any. But after watching a tv article about breast cancer, she realised the change she had was "puckering" This was indicative of a tumor on the chest wall. So any changes in your boobs, Off to the docs please. and yes the biopsy isn't nice. The bruising it causes, I can only imagine the pain.

I can see the medical explanations not holding much water!

Re: Boobs - discussion
I will say this here only once, but if a male friend came to me and asked me to check a lump on their bits, I would do so out of concern and then refer them to their GP. After all, we all want our nearest and dearest to check such a thing first.
I seem to recall a stat that said male cancers were often seen in the later stages because Men either do not check often enough or do not go out of embarrassment. So come on Guys, keep yourselves safe too. PS, for those guys who just want a haggard old Lesbian handling their bits I am also happy to oblige and have a suitably heavy sledge hammer in the garage for just such a check! |

Re: Boobs - discussion
This thread took a bit of a nose dive, boobs were good but now we're onto balls
Quite right though, check often and get to the GP for anything out of the ordinary...I remember getting thrush when I was at Uni and went to the doctors, there was only a female doctor on...oh the embarrassment! Still the next day it's all forgotten about and I could sit still for longer than 5 seconds

Re: Boobs - discussion
Being married to a GP does have some advantages I suppose...... although it's a bit of a turn off when you cuddle up on the sofa and she tells you what she's been handling all day.....
