Default Headstock stand question

We'll start with a pic:

Does anyone know what the 4 'V' shaped bits are for? Can't figure it out.

They're on a cheap headstock stand I've just bought. £37. Can't recommend it as it seems to make contact with bits of fairing when you're fitting it.

It also came with 2 L brackets to convert the bottom part into a rear paddock stand, I think (instructions don't mention what they're for). But this seems silly as you need a rear paddock stand already to use the front lifter.

Can you find a pdf manual?

Use the name of the unit and pdf in a google search. You might find something.

I can't think what they would be for :/

If they are catching the fairing but the unit is working ok I'd have my hacksaw at them and get rid.Sometimes makers just put silly things on stuff. My 10 Penn'th

From another thread I've just treated myself to a similar one but this one,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Pro-...QAAOSwA3dYEQAV

Works great.Serviced my front brakes yesterday and did around 150 miles on a jolly today. All good

Note: on this one the screw locking the headstock plug in place was crap so replaced it with an Allen bolt and the hole was slightly off so drilled it out to make good.

It's not the V bits that catch on the fairing, it's the handle. The whole thing isn't a great shape - it either catches the fairing or you can't get the angle to get the pin in the hole. Or i'm doing it wrong, which is equally likely

Still as you can see it kinda works. Fork seals done
