Any Naked Pointys Looking for a Fairing Upgrade?
Is there anyone with a Naked pointy who is looking to change their front end from naked to one with the nose cone?
As far as I'm aware what needs swapping are the top yolk, the head light, the sub loom and front subframe along with the nose cone itself. We assume the clocks need swapping S to N due to the cone offering weather protection however due to the high miles on the S model in question then it would be better for you if you kept your own clocks provided they still fit. The S model is faired and in black, with a double bubble tinted screen. Post up in here if you think you may be interested. |

Re: Any Naked Pointy's Looking for a Fairing Upgrade?
swap requires
top yoke (and everything above) inc throttle cables clutch cable brake res clutch perch switch gear (both) headlight loom back of speedo (plastic dome) tbh its easier to switch the complete front end in a oner minus the front wheel and brakes hth |

Re: Any Naked Pointy's Looking for a Fairing Upgrade?
the reason i say the above is because you then just need to unclip the front end controls and electrics fron the body of the bike, you keep the brakes and discs which means no uneven pad wear (rebedding) ,tyre tread etc, the speedo take 5 mins to pop the dome off and swap
all in all a side by side bike frontend swap about 1hr 2 at the outside |

Cheers dave ill pass it on.
id Figured on the cables but not on the switch gear thanks. It's not a day in day out bike so he's happy to remove from the S what he needs to then send it to the N owner for them to do the convenient swap and send their N pieces back up here if that helps anyone out. I'm still trying to persuade him that a GSXR front end is the right thing to do so don't hang about if this is something you find tempting. |
