Default Gen 2 clutch cover fit gen 1??

Hi guys, pretty simple request got the leaking clutch cover on the gen 1. For now I've bodged it but I don't want to fork out for that wood thingy one that's like £150. Can I replace the whole clutch cover with the gen 2 onwards models that have the sealed unit?? It looks like a straight swap from pics on eBay? P.s anyone selling one? Cheapest I've seen is £30 posted.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say yes.

The reasoning as follows:

The engines are basically identical between the models. There are some differences such as the design of the clutch cover but parts are readily interchangeable, for example the cams, the shift selector etc.

Additionally there was a chap who was selling clear covers (if anyone has one to sell then please PM me) to fit both models. To fit them to the later model you needed to use the gen1 cover to fit the clear part to. Therefore if there is forward compatibility it stands to reason there is backwards compatibility.

However I've never done it myself.

Not sure looks the same to me as in same position of bolts and number. Only difference is gen 1 has a removable clutch window and newer versions don't. I'm sure I read someone has done this.

I'd agree with SH.

Nillie's clutch cover were machined CNC jobbies and as far as I remember fitted both curvy & pointy. I know because I have one on my curvy

think im going to give it a whirl and will let you know. I have put some fabric washers, new bolts and sealant on the clutch window part and it has stopped but that was only just today so it could go again in a few days. only issue is there are no black ones but the frame is silver so shouldnt look too bad.

One off special made by a German Orger a few years ago. Not cheap but well made.

Woodcraft make clutch covers for Sv's, not cheap either, but don't warp like OEM ones.
