increase in motorcycle tax
taken from the march issue of scootering magazine..........
Alistair Darling has plans to double the road taxfor bikes in 2009, making it more expensive to tax a viable green alternative than it is for some cars. Changes to the law mean cars emitting less than 100g of CO2 per km would be exempt from paying Vehicle Excise Duty while motorcycles are still required to pay. Even more polluting but low emission cars will still cost little, for example a 1.6 diesel Peugeot 207 cost £35 to renew last year while the anual charge for a typical 125cc commuter bike is set to grow from £15 to £33 in 2009 An online petition to Number 10 has been organised and runs until April 11 petition is here.......... http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/motorcycle-tax/#detail |

Stoppy - look particularly at Northwind's response in the link. That's why we need to apply brains to what we read and not just have kneejerk responses

Re: increase in motorcycle tax
bike=cuts through stationary traffic and uses fuel to its max.
green car=stands in traffic for hours burning fuel at an alarming rate whilst listening to ELO mr blue sky. life seems so unfair at times. |

Re: increase in motorcycle tax
so many Hitler bike video threads were started by people that thought that they had found something new and that we had not seen before that the term "Hitler Bike" has become a euphanism for "Oh my god, not that again"
