2018 SV650 abs paint codes? - SV650.org

Hello everyone,

I’m really happy to have recently become part of the SV family.

I Acquired a 2018 SV black with red frame color scheme with one problem. The previous owner put it down at low speed causing some small damage to the tank and scrapes on the frame.

My question is does anyone know the paint code for the red frame? Anyone know of a close color match?

I’ve been to two body shops and a auto body supplier. Body shops told me to strip it to the frame before they’ll fix it, and supplier said it’s a “candy” paint (whatever that means) and they cannot come close to a match.

Welcome. The easy part of your question is "candy" paint - it means it has a silver -ish base coat which makes the top coat sparkle. It means that the paint has 3 layers, base coat, colour coat and lacquer. It also means it is difficult to touch up.

There are a couple of things I'd try - contact Fowlers of Bristol and ask them for the colour code. As an example here's the part number for the frame: 41100-18K01-YAP. The last three letters are the paint code, unfortunately this one is black but they say to contact them for other colours. There is a "leave message" tab on the page.

The other suggestion would be to contact Suzuki GB and ask them for the code assuming you're in the UK.

The hope would be that the colour is used elsewhere (on a Suzuki bike) in which case the paint code will be recognised.

My experience is that the touch up paints tend to change colour as they age.

The bike's colour code normally is marked under the tank but I think that only lists the tank.
