just learned from reddit that Aqualung by Jethro Tull is 50 years old this year too.

I wonder if they'd get away with the lyrics now...

I used to think that was pervy when I was a kid back when it was a hit. so I'd say they should not have gotten away with it at all.

another one: "Queen" is also 50 years old this year.

I vividly remember "Bohemian Rhapsody" being released (the first time) - I was in the RAF working in the ILS section at RAF Nth Luffenham, I'd returned from working on the ILS at RAF Akrotiri where I turned 21. We had an old valve radio in our section that would get cranked up each time they played the song. Every time I hear the song it puts me back there.

Mungo Jerry - Summertime has a nice message but very questionable detail. IIRC it's pretty creepy as well as borderline psychopathic "If her Daddy's rich treat her right" ,"If her Daddy's poor use her" (or words to that effect).
