I presently ride a BMW F650 Classic that is lowered with a factory kit. What has been developed to lower the SV650? I've heard about reversing the "dog bone". Is that safe and effective. I'm inseam challenged, but an experienced rider (40 years plus). This is my first visit to your forum. It looks good! Thanks

you need to get some longer dog bones, then offset the rear being lower by dropping the forks though the yokes a tad to lower the front.

Hello there! *waves*
How challenged are you? I'm just under 5'2" and I've got a lowered SV. I've got the longer dogbones and the forks have been dropped. I've also got the lower seat, and have the Daytona builtup boots which are extremely good. Its perfectly safe to have the longer links and someone with 40 years plus should have no problem with the SV ![]() This issue has been raised quite a few times so have a search on the forum for more help. |

Kate's bike is the lowest SV nearly any of us have ever seen. It looks like a 400 import in height.
The only issue i can see is if you are a bit heavier, the bike may ground out expecialy if you have an aftermarket belly pan. I have been able quite easly to ground mine out even though the bike is not lowered. Depending on how you ride your bike you may have to raise the pegs as the lowered bike easly touches down, and an standard bike is quite easy as well.
