Unhappy Sticking brake caliper.

Went out for a short blast on my bike today. It was my first run since about October last year. When i was pushing my bike out of the garage it was quite hard to move and i thought that maybe it was due to it sitting for so long.

When i was riding and rolled off the throttle the bike slowed down very quickly and at some points i didn't even have to use the brakes.

I was using the brakes a lot to try and wear off any nastiness that may have been on the face of the pads.

As i got near home i heard a "squeaking" noise coming from the front brakes. When i stopped at my house i had a look at the discs and they looked ok but when i touched them the one on the left (looking at them from sitting on the seat) was cool but the right hand disc was very hot.

I am not mechanical minded in any way so any thought on what it could be and simple description to resolve the problem would be greatly appreciated. I cannot afford to put the bike into a garage to pay for repairs and would be quite happy to try and give it a go myself!! maybe as long as it is not too difficult.

Thank you.

Calipers need some maintenance.Either the pistons are sticking or the sliders are not sliding. At the least they are going to need a good clean up and red rubber grease.

Thanks BB i would give it a go but as brakes are an essential part of the bike i would be worried that i would mess it all up.
