Brake fluid reservoir jackets - what's all that about?
What are these for do they have any function other than being just and accessory?

I believe it's used by racers to keep the brake fluid warm, I dont think it really has a function on road bikes

Yes why warm fluid?
I have a thundercats one... it was a sweat band not a Reservoir jacket, its just cus the retailers have seen a market for it. And I have it cus its the Thundercats... do I need another reason? |

Its just another halfrauds accessory idea.
If its cos the bike leaks fluid take the damn thing back as its not fit for purpose. If its to stop flud spilling when you're re-filling it, take it ff when you're finished. So none of those things then. If its to keep the fluid warm you have more chance of that happenign by holding it in your hands for a few mins. How is a headband type thing gonna have any thermal properties? pmsl at that. One guy tried to say somehting very technical to me once about the suns UV radiation breaking down the molecular structure of the fluid...so i guess thats why a lot of biks have clear reservoirs, so we can crash due to useless brake fulid that got itself a sun tan and decided not to work any more...and we can sue the bike nmanufactureres now. Yay. About as required as colour coded pegs and matching chain. Nothing wrong with al that if its your thing but its only an accessory. BTW before anyone thinks i'm being harsh about accessories on bikes...i had blue footpegs on my old bike and spent a veritable fortune on LED indicatros too

I thought hot brake fluid contributed to brake fade.....so you wouldnt want to keep it warm

I got one from a magazine and put it on just because I had one. Now it's on I like it, as I think the reserviour is a bit bulky and looks turd!
