Default Re: My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?

I'm very much open to suggestions! I have three days starting at Stockton on tees so if you or anyone can suggest the most bike friendly and scenic route I'm all ears. I only planned to go to JOG as a 'tick in the box', I've only been as far as Inverness and it was always in a van for work. Every time I went there or Fort William I promised myself I must do it for pleasure on a bike some day.

i can sort something out for you but i need to know what sort of mileage are you happy doing per day, now remember that dusk is at 7:30pm at that time of year. i would also like to know your final destination.

We averaged 300 miles a day on the last trip, some days seemed long though. 250ish?

Just looking to do a three day round trip from/to Stockton-on-tees up into the highlands and back trying not to use any roads twice (for any extended period anyway). We carry all our camping gear and am told we can camp anywhere with the right to roam rules(?). Obviously we would take our rubbish with us.

yes your sort of right about the right to roam act but you might find your bike on it's side in the morning unless that is you stick to the 'known' free camping places. try doing a search on google for free camping in Scotland or something like that. i only know of a few places but none are 'up north'.

your about the same as me with the 300miles a day. the route you posted is going to be more than 300 miles a day and if not then it will be a very boring 300miles.
