Hyperpro spring upgrade
I know there are a million topics about swapping the springs...
But this weekend was my first hard ride with the new progressive springs and heavier oil. All I can say is that 2 up, it was a totally new experience! It made the world of difference! Go progressive, go linear. Just make sure you do it (if you weigh more than 135lb or whatever it's set up for) So happy with the improvements |

Re: Hyperpro spring upgrade
As said above.
I've just fitted some old stock Debrix emulators in my NC700. From what I understand Debrix are no longer in the emulator business. Anyone have experience of the YSS items? They look right and the price is OK, fortunately the ad states the diameter so you can get the right ones even if not specified for the model. My Debrix ones were 31mm which was actually too small for the top of the damper rod so I had to make adapter rings, the 33.5 would probably be right. Not sure for the different SV models, but they are available in different sizes so ...... Maxton did a write up for someones NC750 very recently and said the forks are undersprung and overdamped, which I agree with, and they feel harsh on coarse surfaces. Having put the emulators in mine I can say that the damping is now transformed, even though I haven't tuned them in yet, but it has exaggerated the soft springing so it's a visit to Mr.K-tech then for some bent wire. Can't overstate how much better even emulators are compared to simple damper rods. Huge improvement, mahoosive. EDIT - just seen Bibio's post regarding the YSS items!

Re: Hyperpro spring upgrade
I actually have the debrix emulators with the spacers (someone made them up for me off this forum)
Couldn't find them when I was changing the seals oil and springs. Only to find them a couple of days after I had rebuilt the forks lol Loving the improvement so in no rush to strip the forks again just yet |
