K7 speedo reads erratically.
My bike (K7) has been really optimistic recently and keeps registering speeds of over 150mph! Last time it did this, I was stuck behind a lorry.
Any ideas why it has gone crazy or was I just behind a really really fast lorry? (It can register speed changes of over 20mph from one figure to the next) Any help would be great, has anyone else experienced this? |

Re: Digital speedo is going crazy
Sounds like the speedo drive needs looking at. Potentially it maybe broken, hence giving out false/optimistic readings

Re: Digital speedo is going crazy
Common problem of this sort is the speed rotor which can deteriorate. This is located as the "spacer" on the left side of the axle. If you have a haynes check out the section on removing the front wheel. Otherwise there are many threads here about the diagnosis and treatment of this affliction (utiliser le chercher ).

Re: Digital speedo is going crazy
Sensor sounds goosed. You need to test the sensor with a multimeter and a simple wiring rig

Re: Digital speedo is going crazy
If it's reading erratically, it could be the rotor, if it reads erratically but also says you're doing a 150 then it's more likely damage to the wiring between the loom and the pickup at the front hub.
