Brake pads - Miffed!
The Sv needs some new pads. I used to use carbonne lorraine pads, well the HG versions, adn have been more than happy over the years. This was due to the fact im not a fan of the EBC HH's as they are very heavy on disc wear and no much better the CL plads in terms of grip and braking power.
It turns out that CL no longer have an importer into the UK so you can not get them any more. It also turns out that Ferodo no longer do a Sinter road pad either. So it looks like You can either buy cheap pads from strange manufacturers, or EBC pads. So there really isnt an alternitive to EBC HH's if you want decent pads. This i find quite wrong. What to do? |

Re: Brake pads - Miffed!
Are there no other alternative decent brake pad manufacturers who do sintered pads?
I used to use Performance Friction pads in my GSXR1000 because they were the only people who made quality pads to suit the ductile iron PFM discs and AP Racing 6 pot calipers. EBC made some too, but I never regarded them as decent quality. |

Re: Brake pads - Miffed!
Good morning all.
Vesrah make sintered pads, which are ok by all accounts. You may have trouble finding a stockist though. Cheers. |

Re: Brake pads - Miffed!
This si what im saying. it seems that there is no competition in the quality brake pad market all of a sudden. Have EBC wiped out thier competitors, is it a conspiracy?

Re: Brake pads - Miffed!
Good morning all.
Following a quick perusal of the internet the Vesrah part numbers are; o/s front SD435 n/s front SD 352 & Rear SD327. As I said, they seem ok, but I prefer EBC myself. As do most folks judging by the size of EBC's market share. Cheers. Last edited by Spanner Man; 24-03-10 at 06:25 PM. |
