Default MOT and clutch switch

has anyone passed and MOT with the clutch safety switch "bridged"?

the bike is ready as i found a pair of foot pegs kicking about in one of my sin bins.

Never bypassed the switch, would seem that it is more than just a safety interlock on modern bikes

Would have to be a pretty clued up tester to spot that. I guess as long as both the wheels are present, the tyres are OK, the brakes work + all lights function and the horn, it would pass.

i know about the clutch switch and never to bypass it. but i would like to get the bike MOT'd for the weekend.

the switch should be here tomorrow afternoon or at the latest saturday and will fit it as soon as i get my hands on it.

i personally dont think its part of the MOT.

Yep.Mine was disabled when I got the bike and the PO has even removed the wires to it.

well passed its MOT. switch dropped through the door today so its now fitted. yes the bike cut out a few times coming to a junction due to no switch but its all good now

Clutch switch has been bridged on mine for about 10 years now, never had any issue at mot time
