Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run
I'll meet you lot at the pub at Cheshire Oaks as well. What time did you meet up last year? Not done the egg run before so not sure how early we should be at the start for.

Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run
Last year we met up between 09:30 and 10am at the pub nr. Cheshire Oaks.
If everyone is planning to do the same as last year, I would like to suggest those who are coming over from the right side of the Mersey, could meet up with the others as they come through Heswall? There's a large pub called the Glegg Arms (on the right as you come into Heswall on Chester Road) which has a large car park, or there is a large Shell garage opposite where we could meet (this has the benefit of being on the right side of the road as you come in from the Chester side). http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...04812&t=k&z=18 If this seems like a reasonable idea, I suggest those coming over from Liverpool get there for 10am, with a view to meeting the others as they come through around 10:15 - 10:30. I'm happy to arrange a meet somewhere on the Liverpool side as well so we can all ride over together. Probably somewhere like the Asda at Aintree or the petrol station just before the Wallasey tunnel entrance (although last year that was quite busy with bikes/police). Thoughts? |

Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run
Nobbydude, that sounds like a plan! I know the pub you mean (but now I know it's called Glegg Arms!) but maybe meet in the Shell garage so anyone that needs to can fill up. Us non-Liverpool monkeys will meet at the Stanney Oaks as we know that spot.
I would just suggest an earlier meet / set off time so we can get further down the prom at New Brighton this time. We missed some orgers who were on foot last year because we were at opposite ends of the prom. Meet at the Stanney Oaks for 9:00 then leave by 9:15 and meet you guys at Glegg Arms Shell garage about 9:30? We can be on the prom parked up by 10, a bit early but hopefully near the front of the cavalcade! Anyone needing brekky (or elevenses!) can grab something from the vans / New Brighton then. |

Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run
OK Mike...the plan is taking shape.
Stanney Oaks crew Meet - 09:00 Depart - 09:15 Glegg Arms Meet - 09:15 Depart 09:30 I'll post up details of a meeting point for the Liverpool bods once we decide on a meeting point. Damian's mate owns a bike shop which is opening from 8am on the day for Egg runners, however don't know where it is yet. |

Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run
ShadFX - you are coming from Hampshire, you do realise this run is in the LIVERPOOL area? The meet is at New Brighton on the Wirral, not Brighton on the south coast.

Re: 2010 Wirral Egg Run - Attendance
I'll be attending, but meeting chums at 'so many roads' shop in eastham, getting to new brighton about 10. It would be nice to meet up with you lot and put some names to faces, have you a plan for after the egg run? The Tap has a good band on and should be heaving with bikes, nice ice creams/oxtail soup too.
