Default Lights?

Ok my middle one (tiny light in middle of fairing may only be on sv400s) oversily come on soon as u turn ignition on and thats fine!

The left head light also comes on when ignition is on, should the right on be on too?

Main beam just the left one stays on dipped, nothing from right one, but light does come on dash to say im on full beam

So what shal i check first lads? right bulb i think would be a gd start (how the hell do u get to it tho? got all fairing off and i dont see how to get to it easily?

Cheers

its because the wiring of import bikes is diffrent. That is the same operation as the faser. All new euro bikes come with the running lights on. I do beleave that you can rewire the lights to be the same as UK standard bikes.

no doubt someone will come here and explain how.

Yes, I would assume your right bulb is 'duff.'
The centre light being on is not a bad thing and as TSM was hinting towards, all new European (including UK) bikes come with their lights wired permanently on - not just the running lights, headlights as well. European bikes (other than UK) I believe, used to have their running lights wired permanently on.

The issue with your headlights is not normally to do with the rewiring of them, which I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you how to do, but the angle & focus for the MoT and the fact that the bulbs are usually European standard, ie. not standard H4 bulbs!
To change the bulbs to H4s, I believe you will need to be looking out for a full headlight set from an SV!

ok cheers.

I know the "dip" on grey bikes are on the wrong side often! Is there anyway u can tell if its been corrected or not urself, ie by looking at it? or do u have to have special equipment? I was thinking surley i can just see if it dipes wrong way and turn the unit upside down if it will fit?

On the curvey SV the headlight unit cannot be ajusted for left and right, a euro light will look like it has a HID/fog type thing in it (it looks like a magnifing glass) uk ones dont they are equal on each side.

The easiest way would be to sell yours and get a uk one. Or you will have to tape up the lights to spec, your local MOT place should know how to do it.

I think Ricardo meant you to get a UK spec headlight assembly, not a UK spec 400, (there isn't one, but you know that), as the bulbs you need to fit to make both lights come on at once will not physically fit into the lights you have. It isn't just a wiring change, although you will need to adapt your wiring, (a very minor job), to fit UK spec lights.
