Hey wonderful people of the internet.
I have a question of 3 parts. Today, through the wonderful lack of effort of the local council, I finally fell prey to the myriad of pot holes on my way to work. A wonderful bump, follow by an unusual squeaking that sounded like someone had strapped a bird to my front wheel and then my speedo stopped functioning, just says flat 0 all the time. First part of the query: Wheres the best place to pick up a new speedo sensor that doesn't cost more than the bike is worth. Just has to work. Bike is a K6 Sv650S Second part: Is there any chance I can recover cost from council? pot holes have been there for at least 6 months, they came and marked them up at one point so long ago the paint has long since worn off. Never filled but they are obviously aware of them. Third part: Is a smartphone GPS speedometer reliable? Likely I will be using it until I can get this fixed as im a daily commuter and there are a number of speed cameras I don't fancy pushing my luck with. Sorry for the long one! Cheers for any help. I'm new on here so I some more experienced posters can help but this breakers as some SVs,
http://www.moto-breakers.co.uk/www.m...=1240093&ack=9 But I think you need to strip the front wheel and check the completer drive unit 1st. Some good pictures on one of Tamsin's videos showing the drive unit, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsXyLfkb-Lc from about 4:26 I suspect you can claim from the council but you most likely need one of those,"Where there's blame, there's a claim" companies.
