Brake hoses.
camera 038.jpg
Just got braided brake hoses for my bike and as you can see from the picture my old rear break hose wasn't fitted in the bracket correctly so I have put a cable tie around it (my tyre ate it) what is the correct way of putting the new one through the bracket. I have looked din the Haynes put couldn’t see it any were? Last edited by Pam; 07-09-08 at 12:50 PM. |

Re: break hoses
IIRC, the looped art of the bracket should be at 90 degrees to the swingarm, and the hose goes through the large loop - I didnt re-use it when I fitted my braided hoses, I used a 'P' Clip - you can pick these up from bike garages. This holds the braided hose tightly, and bolt to the swingarm - much neater IMO.

Re: Brake hoses.
Isnt that the OEM one from the front's too? - the one that bolts to the forks and holds the original front brake line in place?

Re: Brake hoses.
I use plastic P-clips on the front and rear, you can pick them up at auto and hardware shops.

if your on about my pic then, yeah prob is, but I pinched some off the SRX for the front(the only thing on it that wasn't rusty..lol) as they were stainless don't think it matters what they were made out of or how they look, so long as they do the job, plus the rear line on mine was rather long so needed something to keep it out of the way
