fuel filter
am i correct in saying the curvey sv650s does not have a fuel filter?

I'm sure this is answerable by someone much more qualified than me but I'm pretty sure it should have one!

No! All bikes need a fuel filter or the carbs would become clogged with dirt from the tank. The SV fuel filter is incorporated into the vacuum tap, which is mounted to the underside of the tank on the left hand side.

Haynes manual mentions the fuel filter so i'm guessing yes it does have one.
