Yep. There is a safety switch by the lever. It's meant to stop you disappearing up the road starting it in gear.

Fair enough, they all do it if you are in gear but what about neutral?

Yep, quite normal. You can bypass the switch, but on k3+ bikes this changes the fuel injection map so isn't ideal.

Yep, always have to hold clutch in to start. Whether in gear or not.

And the bike cuts out if you engage 1st while the side stand is down too. Just good safety features

OK cheers for that. Can't quite see the point of it doing it in neutral tho' maybe it's just a Suzuki thing? As long as that's normal all is well in my garage. I know on the big Kwaks you can bugger the engines up big style doing this on a regular basis.

When the clutch is pulled in the switch is used for the starter lock out but also one connection goes back to the ecu. This is apparently used for an anti stall measure that helps change the running to help at traffic lights and other situations when you come to a halt and pull the clutch in. If this connection is always on then the mapping never stops using this so is never quite on the best map.

If you have a curvy there is no such trickery.

Ditto.
Will it effect idling at lights? Can someone post a photo of what it should look like at the clutch lever?

Thanks in advance
