New Law about Riding in France
Have seen this on another forum, so not sure of its validity but it's not surprising:
"The French have just passed a law, effective from 2nd March 2007: All motor cycles in France must ride on dipped headlights during daylight. I know we all do anyway but if you forget to switch your lights on after a coffee stop you can be liable for an on the spot fine of 35 euros." Now, on most modern bikes this is a standard, but it's not on Mk1 SV's, so please be aware. . |

Re: New Law about Riding in France
Hmm...............we thought it was law already. Every time we've been to France in the past the local Bikers have told us we have to ride with our headlights on, because normally we don't.

Re: New Law about Riding in France
Following our recent jaunt into France this is the case as my Blade was not charging properly so headlights were not on but in every town we went through someone pointed out my lights were not on.

Re: New Law about Riding in France
Just to set everyone on the straight and narrow, I spoke to a gendarme a couple of weeks ago and he told me the headlight law had been in force for several yaers the recent change meant that mopeds and small m/c now had to comply

Re: New Law about Riding in France
I leave mine off......since a car pulled across me as he thought I had flashed him, due to me hitting a pothole making it look that way..
