engines gone bang!!!
alright people, I am a fellow Suzuki man, but I am asking this on behalf of a mate who has a sv650s.
Basically it went bang this morning, he is really disheartened with it now, he has had about enough of it now, but I think he might be seeing the red mist still. can you give me an idea if we drop the engine in ourselves how much roughly is a replacement engine and do you have any links other than flea bay. its a 1999T so its obvioulsy they early shape model, 650S as well but the engines are the same between the faired and unfaired, is the only difference the footpeg position? correct. Many thanks Jim |

Re: engines gone bang!!!
ive got an engine from a 99 sv650s for sale at the moment. Id like 300 for it if possible but may be willing to barter. It has done 17.5k miles and ran perfectly up untill i crashed the bike. Since the crash it has been started and runs fine. The bike went front on into the side of a car and the forks took the brunt of the crash before the bike fell over onto its side after it had become stationary. It comes with all the fixing bolts and everything thats attached to it but im not sure how much stuff that is. As for putting it in yourself i doubt its that hard, getting it out was a piece of ****.
The engine is in high wycombe in bucks and pick up would be prefered as postage is going to be silly money. pm me or email me at fat_brstd@yahoo.com if you want any more info. |

Re: engines gone bang!!!
Nothing in particular I'm just considering rebuilding a blown one for the sake of it really, I'm a shed dweller short of a project at the moment

Re: engines gone bang!!!
If its pointy are the internals much different apart from the crank sensor instead of pulse coil etc?
