Default Dead Bike...

Ok, I think my bike has died. Got hit in the back by a combination of range rover/Micra on preston old road two days ago.

I still at a lollypop ladys crossing and i let someone out after (so i didn't move for 40 seconds). Then the aformentioned vehichles hit me and shoved me about 15ft foot forwards on my left hand side into the side car that i was letting out!... great fun all round.

Question is how likely is it that its a write off. Theres a bit of damage to the left hand side - front and back fairings, indicator, clutch, handlebars gear level and a some on the chassis (not much). What im worried about is getting shunted in the back as i don't know if my suspension/back wheel and especially my exhaust are damaged si it might hike the price up abit...

Don't want to lose my SV! as i probably couldnt get another

If you think it got hit hard enough, then take it into a shop and see if you can get a mechanic to give it a once-over. Otherwise, if you've got a shed you can start the [winter project!] process of taking things apart and inspecting them yourself.

I can't see it going any other way really, rear-end shunts nearly always get blamed on the shunter, not the shuntee.

Glad to hear you're ok. Think getting into a car affects some peoples vision and gives them a bike shaped blind spot.
