FI on dash - SV650.org

Hi there hope some one can help tonight i swapped rear shock for a gsxr one the bike hasnt been started since 2 weeks before christmas , I tried to start it after fitting shock but battery was to low to start and the FI warning came on as did the red warning light , would it come on due to low charge and not priming the fuel system fully

Sounds like the battery is dead. Same thing happened to me.

Get an Optimate, I did, works great.

going to excell sat so will be looking for optimate there battery on normal charger at moment so hoping it will be ok

just thought is the tip over switch on the front of the battery tray with three wires in it and would that cause the FI warning

Check the tip over switch is pointing the right way up.

at the mo it is in rubber holder with the wires on the left hand side

It has an arrow on it somewhere showing the right way up

is it the one with three wires coming out , just been back in shed and switched on several times and seems to be ok

The easiest option, by far, is to put the bike into "dealer service mode." This will then tell you the corresponding error code.

If the FI wording on the LCD unit is flashing, or the red FI light itself is flashing, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE BIKE. I really can't stress this enough. At the moment, no-one here knows the cause of the FI warning, and the consequences of starting it with potentially broken FI could be disastrous.

To put the bike into "dealer service mode," remove both seats (the plug is in a slightly different place on every bike), and look under the rider seat near the plastic that separates the two seats. The plug you're after is white, and is on the same side of the bike as the sidestand. It has a black rubber boot on it. Remove this, and you'll see something like I've drawn here:

Join the two connectors shown in red (and not any others). Then turn the ignition on. The code will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the LCD.

Post back here with what the code is, and either myself or one of the others will tell you what the code means.

thanks for that its showing -c00 and FI warning not showing now
