Though worse case scenario, given that Ireland has their own NHS type system I think they'd patch you up and sort the paperwork out afterwards

Re: health insurance in ireland- quick answer please
I think its worth having some cover (that covers you for motorcycling) as I have heard of someone who was being treated in Spain using an EHIC as you would expect but of course would not be repatriated etc. EHICs fine for a minor one but not for a major one as you end up stuck there I think. Also a little bit of travel insurace will cover you for other things as well. Of course then theres the issue of bike repatriation but I assume your bike cover will cover that.
Not that I think you will fall off or anything..... |

Check it covers motorcycling. But someone may know if the will repatriate from Ireland on NHS, I'm not 100% certain but going by some other european countries.

Re: health insurance in ireland- quick answer please
ok
ta for the answers- all done ! went the post office. see a thread i put in the other forum i use.. cheers again >>> ok guys- i been the post office. got the form i am now insured. it is simple and worth 5 minutes. the post office insurance number is 0800 169 9999 simply call them - give a few details. pay with debit card..and it is £15 for the 4 days I am covered from midnight tonight til midnight on monday night .. it covers me- health and hospitalisation/treatment etc plus my stuff.! camera monies etc etc.. of course it doesnt cover my bike thats my bike insurance.. I did state I was on a motorbike and they said thats no problem- still covered. they give you a number to call and a refence to quote- -- (i am just gonna print them and laminate them to take with me.) .. also there is a £50 excess .. on this policy BUT if you have an E111 - a European Health Insurance Card then that is waivered- when you speak to the post office they can they transfer you to the E111 people and that is so so simple.. just your name and national insurance number and postcode and its done ! they give you an emergency number if you need to call it and you need to quote your national insurance if you have to call that number.. so £15- peace of mind and covered.. do it guys _________________
