Just brought a new... - SV650.org

FZ8... I know this a SV forum but it's still a good place to talk bikes so if its ok with everyone i'll continue to use the forum as a FZ8 rider

I'm sure they won't mind, I've never owned an sv at all, so if a lynch mob forms you can flee while they're chasing me down.

I agree, I like the retro colour scheme, but then I'm a bit retro myself, I've not tried the 800cc engine and hope they have addressed the mid-range gutlessness of the 600cc lump, looks to be a nice riding position, what sort of weight is it? and where is peak power in the rev range ?

I have to say I'm over the moon with the bike looks and feel wise, very comfortable. its alot heavier than my SV was and noticably smoother up through the gear box, i do miss that intital thump of power you got when you first hit the revs on the SV but over all I'm very happy with my choice, one other thing i feel the FZ8 almost forces you to ride safer as on the SV sometimes with it being so light and thumpy it was almost like an endure bike. I will update further when i have really got used to the bike.
